From the Jerusalem Post:
IAF aircraft blew up two key strategic bridges - one in the central Gaza Strip and the second near Deir el-Balah - shortly before midnight on Tuesday. The army said that the operation was intended to keep Hamas from taking kidnapped soldier Cpl. Gilad Shalit out of the Gaza Strip.
In addition, two IDF tank and infantry divisions were amassed around Gaza, and were awaiting orders to begin a ground incursion into the strip. (via Drudge)
It was nothing more than a predictable matter of time before Hamas found another excuse to attack, and another justified retaliation effort from Israel. For Hamas, the perepetuity of anti-semitism is key to their survival, without Israel people may start looking inward. With hateful propaganda, and taunting Israel to military action, such perpetuity is secured easily.
Unfortunately, the only realistic solution to this without unnecessary injustice to Israel, is nothing short of an unconditional surrender. It's unfortunate because virtually every Middle Eastern anti-Semite will be dead before that happens.
