Everybody knows about the most recent school shooting, so I won't repeat it. But what interests me is what may come of this.
The AP:
The attack on the tiny, one-room schoolhouse amid the farm fields of Lancaster County was the nation's third deadly school shooting in less than a week, and it led the Bush administration to call for a school violence summit within days to discuss possible federal action to help communities prevent violence and deal with its aftermath. (via Drudge)My kneejerk reaction to such reactionary federal action is to expect more gun control.
President Bush and Attorney General Gonzales, while superior to Democrats on 2nd Amendment issues, aren't exactly anti-gun control. It will be interesting to see who is included in the summit, and what legislation or executive orders it will produce.
