Israel's prime minister said Thursday that he was surprised and encouraged by talks with Chinese leaders who told him they were strongly opposed to Iran having nuclear weapons.Just don't expect China to actually do anything about it.
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert met with President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao during a three-day visit to Beijing that ended Thursday.
"Their comments on political matters were definitely encouraging, including, and I say this explicitly, the Iranian issue, sharply emphasizing Chinese opposition to a militarily nuclearized Iran," Olmert told reporters.
