It appears our Communist neighbor is once again facing death.
In this AP story, Castro has reportedly gone through three failed operations and complications from an infection:
In a report published on its Web site, El Pais said: "A grave infection in the large intestine, at least three failed operations and various complications have left the Cuban dictator, Fidel Castro, laid up with a very grave prognosis."The NYT via Reuters headlines the story as Castro being "impaired," and translates the prognosis slightly differently, calling it "very serious." Interesting.
The question is what will Castro's death mean for U.S.-Cuba relations, if anything. If Raul stays in power, I doubt it would mean much.
