Whether or not you agree with individuals owning arms, you have to admire an individual's passion for liberty. From the Boston Harbor, the streets of Tienanmen Square, to the universities in Iran, voicing liberty in the face of tyranny is a force that refuses to be silenced.
The freedom to own arms is a freedom but few nations throughout history have not suppressed.
A man today fought for freedom, risking his own to a life of confinement.
That man's name is Hollis Wayne Fincher. Remember that name.
Do Americans need guns? You may argue there is no need, you may argue Americans are safe from violence, safe from government, safe from foreign invaders. You may argue the power of American government and its commitment to the security and freedom of the people. You can argue Americans don't need guns.
But if you accept the history of mankind, you cannot argue that American citizens will never need guns.
Lieutenant Commander Fincher, Godspeed. You have my wholehearted support, my prayers, and my utmost respect.
Update: Fincher found guilty. Appeal is likely to follow.
