To my friends of freedom:
So you don't want America playing the world police anymore.
You are sick of us contributing more than our share to ungrateful and undeserving nations, a lot of which turn to criticize us, as they oppress their own.
You're sick of America trying to save the world, especially when it looks like Iraq, or worse.
You're tired of tyrants standing high behind that UN General Assembly pulpit just to spit upon the soil they stand.
And so you want America to stop.
I share your frustration, but don't throw away the power and influence America has abroad in anger.
You love liberty as I do, but just as it is with man, "All that is necessary for evil to succeed" is for good nations "to do nothing."
Don't stop thinking about your liberty, just start thinking about the world's.

Don't get me wrong, I agree America gets the short end of the stick all too often in world politics, and I'm the guy who created the "Screw the UN" blog and blogroll.
I just don't want a complete 180 degree turnaround in America's foreign policy. Screw the UN, screw China, screw Russia, screw France, screw Iran, screw Venezuela, we don't need them. But we still have cards to play, and we still can get nations such as those to do certain things favorable to us. We shouldn't throw that away.
