"The 'militia' was not, as the gun lobby will often claim, simply another word for the populace at large." -Brady Campaign (today)
"A militia, when properly formed, are in fact the people themselves...and include all men capable of bearing arms." -Richard Henry Lee (1788)
"I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people, except for a few public officials." -George Mason (1788)

When is your 2nd Amendment sentiment too much? When "leaders" say so. And with reasons like these, we won't need to be Armed and Safe.
It got killed thankfully, but we have some Traction Control over reckless state representatives insisting on legislating Constitutional rights into terrorism.
Where did the 2nd Amendment go? -Ahh, the spoils of a War on Guns. Not to mention the spoils of Valentine's week through protecting and serving (content warning).
Clichés and gun control, Front Sight Press on a lesson from Britain.
What's with the one-sidedness in portraying "gun-culture"? Ride Fast & Shoot Straight adds some photographic dimension to it.
Perhaps the greatest civil right in black history, pointed out by A Keyboard and a .45. Oouuch:
Gun control measures, from the slave gun bans of the 1700s South to the Brady Bill regulations of the 1990s have unfairly targeted black Americans and have worked to curtail a disproportionate number of their constitutional rights.Ouch again, Blogonomicon delivers the pain, at least if you like guns and Giulianni.
Clueless on crime, D.C.'s Marion Barry goes Once More Into the Breach
Concealed carry thoughts after the SLC Trolley Square shooting from the Walls of the City, and of course, which gun to carry?
Chipping away liberty through government control, thankfully Washingtonians have Liberty News.
A national open carry case? Perhaps the trial of the century.
Hand over your guns, and while you're at it, your car keys too. Too bad not every leftist is a Pro-Gun Progressive.
More smoke blowing and blame shifting in New Jersey, as the prominent gun blogger Alphecca points out.
Violence, and the evolution thereof --at least on a more personal school-ground level. The Smallest Minority knows what's at stake when fundamental rights aren't tolerated.

"Gun control laws have no effect on the arming of today's militia, since those laws invariably do not apply to arms used in the context of military service and law enforcement. " -Brady Campaign
"Federal agents arrested a Fayetteville, Arkansas, militia member on November 8, 2006 on charges related to the possession of illegal firearms."

Thanks for the mention and keep up the good work.
- from Traction Control
I just popped over from hotair, and was pleased to see lots of gun talk!
The Trolley Square shooting just reinforced my determination to carry everywhere and always. (My concealed carry weapon is a Taurus .357 snubbie revolver, though most of my guns are Rugers.) My kids deserve to have daddy come home from the mall (when he makes the mistake of deciding to pay mall prices for things!).
It hit home for me, because I've been to Trolley Square many times, so it isn't just an image on the TV screen.
If there was any good out of the tragedy, it was more people wanting to have the means to avoid such tragedies.
