Not much time right now, but it has been confirmed that the quiet Sulejman Talovic had pulled a knife on his family's landlord when he was younger:
All over the local news are reactions to the blogosphere's and radio's treatment of Sulejam's murder spree, as if we are wrongly implying he was a jihadi. Well, it's worse than that, every hour I hear about how we are blaming not just a Jihadi Sulejman, but the whole Muslim faith. There might be a few out there calling all Muslims terrorists, but this hysterical PC overreaction by the local media is absurd. We are simply asking questions. Does this have any relation to radical Islam? Nobody in the MSM seems to want to ask that question. I want to know. The people of Salt Lake, Utah, and the country deserve to have that question answered.
America is not immune from terrorism, from foreigners or homegrown radicals. Just look at France, and England. Why would American Muslims be so much different?
Update: I now have no way of confirming this, but just wanted to put it out there. Call it my distrust of the established news media, but there were reports of a witness who saw Talovic holding a Koran, and other reports saying he had a Koran in his backpack. Possibly complete BS, and if not, lots of people carry religious scripture with them. But I wanted to note that here because a similar reference was just taken off Talovic's Wikipedia entry. Others say the Deseret News reported similar information in an update which has now been removed.

(KUTV) SALT LAKE CITY Years before Talovic’s killing spree he may have had a disturbing encounter with a man; it reportedly involved a knife. And there's more:
According to the man, who says he was the family’s landlord. Sulejman Talovic as a young boy pulled a knife and said he was going to kill him.
He did not have the firepower, age and senseless aim, but about age ten it’s alleged that Sulejmen Talovic had moments with Musto Redzovic, a reported landlord, which Redzovic has not forgotten.
He says the young Talovic had a knife and threatened to kill him ‘for no reason.’
“He cam to me with a knife and he said, ‘I’m gonna kill you,’ and I was joking with him,” says Redzovic, “I said, ‘what did I did to you? I give you a dollar the other day,’ or something like that.”
Redzovic continues, “‘He said, ‘I’m just gonna kill you for no reason.’The kid was not normal, he needed help.”
At age 12, Talovic was before a judge for allegedly holding a knife over the head of girl while stating, "I'll kill you," according to a source who is familiar with the case.
Two years earlier, Talovic was referred to juvenile court for throwing rocks at a little girl.

Personally, I think he was just a flipped out kid who happened to be raised Muslim.
I think so too, but I would want to know if otherwise.
And this Bosnian bashing??? What the Hell is Rocky Anderson talking about? I have yet to see any sign of Bosnian bashing.
I think he just took a hard line against something ugly and non-existent to gain some popularity.
I grew up in the south during a period of great race hatred. If a white man had walked into a black church with a shotgun. I think there would have been much discussion of were his hatred came from. I think this young mans religion and background are as worthy of discussion.
From what I've heard, he wasn't really a practicing Muslim.
It's looking like he was another Columbine freak. But to discount the possibility of a certain motive so immediately is reckless.
