Are you safe? Or do you just feel safe?

The BBC has reactions of students and others affected from the VA Tech tragedy to the panel's report. Here's a reaction that caught my eye:

The campus is now taking appropriate measures to protect students. Dorms are on 24/7 key card access, VA state police and VT police are everywhere, there are warning signs posted in every classroom on what to do in case of an emergency, and there is now a campus warning siren.

...I know of no one here that feels unsafe.

A cop on every corner, key cards at every door, sirens here an there, with posted warning signs nearly everywhere. Oh, and gun-free! (Except for the only ones, of course) That should stop a madman with a gun, eventually. You know, after he's made himself known. Just hope it's not you who knows first.
