Keeping schools safe... For who?

I ran across this typical example of hoplophobia, an irrational fear of guns, which in this case contributed to irrational fears of students swarming to find the teacher's gun, any gun, like a mad easter egg hunt the very moment such legislation passed. It's borderline PSH as Uncle would call it.

The thought of teachers bringing guns into the classroom is a frightening one. In no time, we expect, students would be hunting for their teachers' firearms, breaking into secured areas where guns might be stored. Just as children have a knack for finding their parents' hidden firearms at home, some would consider finding and taking their teachers' classroom weapons an enticing challenge.

It goes on to say that despite Columbine and VA Tech, gun bans are still the best way to keep schools safe. I agree, they're very safe for killers.
