Cross-country Horseback

Interesting and kind of cool:

When rancher Bill Inman decided to show there's more to America than the gloom-and-doom on the nightly news, he hopped on his horse and started riding.

And riding, and riding.

Some 1,700 miles later, he's burning through his family's life savings as he collects stories of hardworking, honest everyday people in rural America.

Well, at least he's making a documentary out of it. And he says he hasn't met any bad people. That's cool, but I think it has a lot to do with his hat. I've noticed that people tend to treat you more respectfully when you've got one of those on, and believe it or not, from my experience and what I've heard from friends, you're much less likely to get pulled over with a cowboy hat on.
