It's like I've said before, all this hysteria about the Democrats taking the House and possibly the Senate is overblown. The polls indicate the GOP closing in on the races "leaning Democrat."
Perhaps because the Democrats have not proven themselves worthy enough to control Congress, though the Republicans haven't fared much better.
If a third party had a chance, this would be it.
But they still don't have a chance. This election proves the two party system. And in order for the Libertarian party to even achieve the minority, one of the major parties must collapse, and the other injured. We're not at that point yet, despite the failings of both parties. Not that I want a Libertarian Party in a position to legislate, I am simply saying it will take gross negligence, widespread corruption, and elitist smuggery rampant throughout this Congress for a third party to become a 2nd party.
And money, it will take a lot of money. This is where the Libertarians may have a potential advantage. I'm sure Big Business would much rather have a true laissez faire party in place of the Republicans. But in order for the Libertarians to acquire such an alliance, they would have to be a good investment, which would require massive failures from those in power.
Sure, the Libertarians will win a seat here and there, but their party won't be one of the two. At least not until we can prove the Republicans and Democrats have sold their souls to the Devil.
