Hugo Chavez's campaign strategy:
Venezuela's leftist President Hugo Chavez on Sunday promised hundreds of thousands of supporters he would win a resounding victory in his December 3 reelection bid he describes as a challenge to Washington. But why does it have a similar ring to those of some of our patriotic Democrats?"We are confronting the devil, and we will hit a home run off the devil next Sunday," said Chavez, who ruffled feathers in October by calling President Bush the devil in remarks at the United Nations.
"On December 3 we're going to defeat the most powerful empire on earth by knockout," Chavez said.

Chavez is a crafty Bastard, astute Politician and career Soldier who knows how to play the game of misdirection & propaganda.
Instead of handling the real economic issues he's created with Venezuelan Economy with such debacles as the multi-billion dollar yearly Gas Subsidies that make the Gas there.10 to .17 cents a gallon; he's using mis-direction to frame his hopeful reelection on "We are confronting the devil".
But now since the gas is so cheep, the roads are clogged with every manner of Gas Guzzling vehicles from Giant SUVs to poorly tuned horribly inefficient older V8 engine equipped cars, trucks and busses.
As a result they have enormous Air Pollution problems in Caracas as well as damn near 24-hour a day traffic jams.
Perhaps the Venezuelan People will see through his Smog & Mirrors and show him the door, but I doubt it.
