Taxation with Representation

Taking an authoritative position on representation, the Democrats aim to do what Democrats do.

As the elected majority, Democrats, took the vote as authorization for virtually everything from tax increases, de-funding the Iraq war, negligence on Social Security reform, to federally funded embrionic stem-cell research...

From the AP:

Democrats are not ruling out raising taxes for the wealthiest people to help pay for tax cuts for middle-income families, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said.

She spoke of pursuing an estimated $300 billion that people owe in back taxes, eliminating deficit spending and reducing wasteful federal spending.

Sounds great, but the wealthiest people already shoulder the cost of supporting 95%+ of the federal budget, as well as providing jobs for the rest of us. But what better way to reduce deficit spending by transferring the increased deficit bill to the people.

Oh, and wasteful spending as the AP would lead you to believe, is clearly an objective idea shared by all, which could never mean funding proven failed social programs.
