What I did on Memorial Day. Climbed a freaking mountain. My advice: It's not worth it unless you pack a hang glider, then it's questionable.
Meet the La Sals, the mountains you can see in my header. My feat was Mt. Peale, the highest peak in Southern Utah at an oxygen-hating 12,721 feet.
Peale is the one on the right:
Here's a few photos I took:

Thats why I do it Stan, for the view and rush, Mt.Winchell,13,775, is my record so far, yeah, its alot of work, especially if you are carrying roaps and climbing gear as well. It is very much like the eastern Sierra Nevada. I loved Utah when I visited years ago and it much deserves further exploration. Great pics by the way!
I was in the La Sals Saturday, but just did a bit of a picnic. Beautiful weekend at Moab, wasn't it?
Yup, for the most part.
You are a far, far braver man than I. I had the opportunity to climb Cathedral Rock in Sedona, AZ, over Memorial day, and chickened out only about 400 feet up (of its scant 600 feet above the surrounding land).
Heights and I do not get along.
Fantastic pictures, though!
