We're the Only Ones...

Since David's under the weather, I'll help fill the void with an Only Ones triple serving.

Because this isn't my thing, I don't want to give the wrong impression. This is not to bash cops, rather it's to challenge the idea that law enforcement officers are the only ones trustworthy and professional enough to carry firearms. As if by virtue of being a cop, they're morally superior to us common people. With that said, I give you the triple entrée.

We're the only ones driving murderously enough:

A 15-year veteran of the Wausau Police Department is charged with attempting to murder his wife.

Shawano County authorities say Chueng Lee, 45, crashed his truck last week. They now believe Lee crashed on purpose with the intention of killing his wife, Chao, who was in the front seat.

We're the only ones embezzling enough:

Fired, then suspended, White Cloud Police Officer Kevin England was arrested Friday and charged with embezzlement by a public official. He was arraigned and released on bond.

We're the only ones myopically focused enough:

Bellevue police took the report right away, but when they found video of Tanya Rider getting into her car after work, they told her husband the case was out of their jurisdiction and he should notify King County, he said. Tom Rider said he tried that, but "the first operator I talked to on the first day I tried to report it flat denied to start a missing persons report because she didn't meet the criteria," he said.

"I basically hounded them until they started a case and then, of course, I was the first focal point, so I tried to get myself out of the way as quickly as possible. I let them search the house. I told them they didn't have to have a warrant for anything, just ask," he said.

Thursday morning, detectives asked him to come in to sign for a search of phone records. They also asked him to take a polygraph test.
